About the role

As Shift Lead you run the café on your shift: the bar, the floor and the guests. You open or close the café, keep service smooth and lead from the front.

What you'll do

• Open or close the café to Kora checklists: cash float, POS, equipment, cleanliness and security
• Brief the team at the start of each shift and assign stations across the bar and floor
• Keep orders flowing between the bar, floor and kitchen, and step in wherever service needs you
• Check drink and food quality before it reaches the guest
• Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints on the spot, escalating when needed
• Count cash and reconcile the POS at shift change, and record wastage and stock levels
• Run hygiene checks to FSSAI standards, including temperature logs, labelling and FIFO
• Coach new team members on recipes, service and hygiene
• Report shift performance and issues to the Café Manager

What you bring

• 2–3 years in a café or restaurant, with some experience leading a shift or training others
• Strong guest-service instincts and a calm head during rush hours
• Comfortable with cash handling and POS systems
• Clear communication in English, plus Kannada or Hindi
• Available for rotational shifts, including weekends and late closes

Nice to have

• Barista skills: espresso, milk texturing and latte art
• FSSAI food safety training (FoSTaC)
