About Kora.Blr
Kora.Blr is a specialty coffee café brand from The Bangalore Coffee Company, with cafés in Koramangala, Basavanagudi and Jayanagar, and HSR Layout opening soon. Kora comes from the Esperanto word kora, meaning “heartfelt”: good coffee, honest food and a team our guests mention by name.
About the role
As a Commis you prepare and cook our all-day menu under the Chef de Partie, and learn every station of a busy café kitchen. Freshers are welcome.
What you'll do
- Complete mise en place: washing, cutting, sauces, dough and portioning
- Cook dishes to Kora's standard recipes during service, from breakfast plates to pizzas, pasta and sandwiches
- Follow FIFO, label and store food correctly, and help receive kitchen supplies
- Keep your workstation, tools and equipment clean throughout the shift
- Handle waste segregation and closing sanitation, including scheduled deep cleaning
- Follow hygiene and safety instructions under HACCP and FSSAI standards
- Support senior cooks during rush hours and events
What you bring
- A hotel management or culinary diploma, or hands-on kitchen experience. Freshers are welcome
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen hygiene
- Discipline, punctuality and a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working on your feet, in the evenings and on weekends
