About the role
As Captain you run a section of the café floor. You take orders, guide guests through the menu, lead the servers in your section and make sure every table is looked after.
What you'll do
- Run your section of the floor: greet tables, take orders and recommend food and coffee
- Know the menu in detail, including ingredients, allergens and vegan options
- Brief and guide the servers in your section, and check table settings and cleanliness before service
- Keep orders flowing with the bar and kitchen, and check every plate and drink before it reaches the table
- Handle guest requests and complaints, and escalate to the Shift Lead when needed
- Present bills and handle payments accurately on the POS
- Train new servers on Kora service standards
- Help set up and run weekly events such as jamming sessions and open mics
What you bring
- 2–4 years in restaurant or café service, including at least 1 year as a senior server or captain
- Strong menu and service knowledge, and confident upselling
- Good spoken English, plus Kannada or Hindi
- Comfortable with POS billing
- Available for rotational shifts, including weekends and late closes
Nice to have
- A hotel management or hospitality diploma
