About the role

As Assistant Café Manager you run the café alongside the Café Manager and take charge when they're off: the team on shift, guest experience, stock and the numbers.

What you'll do

• Run opening and closing shifts when the Café Manager is off, including cash, POS checks and shift handovers
• Lead the bar, floor and kitchen-support teams on shift: brief the team, assign sections and keep service moving at rush hour
• Look after guests personally: greet regulars, handle feedback and resolve complaints on the spot
• Help plan weekly rosters, track attendance and leave, and cover gaps
• Count stock, place orders, receive vendor deliveries and help control wastage and food cost
• Reconcile daily sales and petty cash, and prepare daily reports for the Café Manager
• Run hygiene and safety checks to FSSAI standards, and log equipment issues for repair
• Train new team members on Kora service standards, and coach shift leads
• Help host weekly events such as jamming sessions and open mics

What you bring

• 2–4 years in café or restaurant operations, including at least 1 year as a supervisor or captain
• Calm, warm leadership during busy service
• Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, stock counts and basic sales reports
• Fluent English, plus Kannada or Hindi
• FSSAI food safety training (FoSTaC), or willingness to complete it
• Available for rotational shifts, including weekends and late closes

Nice to have

• A barista background or working knowledge of specialty coffee
• A hotel management degree or diploma
